We, GridSource, is seeking an Equipment Operator/Foreman in Gainesville, FL, who will be responsible for safely operating the directional drilling, plowing, and other construction endeavors by GridSource. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, understanding elevation changes and make informed decisions on depths to drill at to avoid hitting underground utilities.
What You’ll Do
Operate the drill rig efficiently and effectively
Locate drill head from one point to another without hitting any utilities at the correct depth
Inspect and fuel vehicles prior to beginning employee’s shift
Exhibit the ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility
Experienced using all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment
Have and maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner
Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts & concepts of other departments.

Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility & confidentiality in all areas of responsibility
Multi-task and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Identify opportunities for improvement while creating and implementing viable solutions
Actively follow GridSource and Construction policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred
- NCTI, SCTE and/or other broadband certification preferred
- Previous experience in the broadband industry required
- Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment.
- Working knowledge of construction, National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, state & local regulations and general safety standards
- Class D license
- 1-yr. experience working in operating position where employee is occasionally required to reach with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 95 lbs.
Required to lift 32-foot ladder
Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
May be required to climb poles (with proper equipment), ladders, and other structures as necessary
Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed
May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment year around in all weather conditions May occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration
May be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands
