We have a full-time need for a Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Locator is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized equipment used in horizontal directional drilling operations. The role involves accurately locating and guiding drill paths, ensuring precise placement of underground utilities, and collaborating with drilling teams to achieve project goals.

What You’ll Do
-Operate & maintain HDD locating equipment, including tracking & guiding drill paths
-Monitor real-time data to ensure accurate placement & alignment of underground utilities
-Collaborate with the drill operator & other team members to execute drilling plans efficiently
-Conduct pre-operation site assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
-Set up and calibrate HDD equipment to meet project specifications
-Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
-Record, interpret data related to drilling operations, including depth, angle, & location
-Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation for project records
-Identify and resolve technical issues with HDD equipment and locating systems
-Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed
-Communicate effectively with project managers, field crews, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
-Provide updates on progress, challenges, and potential solutions

What You’ll Need
-Previous experience in HDD locating or a related field is highly desirable.
-Proficiency in operating HDD locating equipment and interpreting data.
-Strong understanding of underground utility installation and horizontal directional drilling techniques
-Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Effective communication and teamwork skills
-Must pass Background and Drug screening.
-Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate challenging terrain.
-Capability to lift and carry equipment and materials as needed
-Good driving record required.
-Ability to lift 75+ lbs. continuously.
-Work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
