We have a full-time need for Fiber Splicer Supervisor in Florida, specifically in the Ocala, Gainesville area, who oversees and coordinates the activities of fiber optic splicing teams, ensuring the efficient and accurate installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. This role involves managing staff, monitoring work quality, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

What You’ll Do
- Supervise & coordinate activities for fiber splicing technicians and installers
- Provide training and support to team members on splicing techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use
- Schedule and assign tasks to ensure timely project completion
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Oversee fiber optic splicing projects from initiation to completion
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements
- Monitor progress, resolve issues, and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines
- Ensure all fiber splicing work is performed according to industry standards and company policies
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the quality and functionality of spliced fibers
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to fiber splicing and network performance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and best practices
- Maintain and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety gear
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to fiber optic installations
- Manage inventory of splicing tools, equipment, and materials
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of splicing machines and other equipment
- Order and requisition supplies as needed to complete projects
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and address any concerns or questions
- Provide updates on project status and resolve any issues or disputes in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of splicing activities, project progress, and any issues encountered
- Prepare and submit reports on project status, team performance, and any other relevant metrics

What you'll need
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in fiber optic splicing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role
- In-depth knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques, tools, and equipment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
- This position may require flexibility in working hours, including occasional nights or weekends, depending on project demands
