We have a full-time Fiber I&R Technician position available in Oregon, specifically in Portland. The main responsibilities include installing fiber optic internet services, delivering top-quality service, and providing product education to both residential and commercial customers.
What You’ll Do
- Installation of aerial fiber optic cables from servicing terminals to demarcation at the customer's premises
- Clean and connect fiber cable at the FSAI, MST, and ONT
- May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18-feet
- May perform strenuous physical activities including but not limited to lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds
- May perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
- Must be available to work flexible hours. Weekend work may be required
What You’ll Need
- Must have your own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack
- Must be truck and tooled (tool assistance provided if needed)
- Must pass background check and drug test
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must have an android smart phone
- Strong customer communication skills & the ability to explain technical issues to customers is needed
- Must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Includes lace up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, hard hat, reflective vest, fall resistor, & safety cones
- Other equipment may be required by local management
