I've only been trapped in cable for about 5 years and would like some information from some real old timers--guys with at least 20+ years in the upgrade business (mainly coax splicing, sweep, and construction). Has there ever been a down trend like this one in your careers? Most prices seem to be down about 20-40% in the past few years. Are price changes like this cyclic? Does this happen every decade? Every two decades? If so, there shouldn't be much trouble riding this out for a few years. If not, does this appear to you to be the beginning of the end of the small hard-working contractor/company that can actually make enough money to justify being away from home for most of their career?
