This is just my opinion on this topic. Things do work in cycles . Its possible things may go back to normal, but you should not try to wait it out. When the industry make a change you must compensate as well. What I see over the next five years is service contractors will do the best. Most systems have rebuilt, and you have a large # of construction subs sitting on the side line waiting for something to happen. We basically built ourselves out of work. However , the MSO's built for a reason, to sell new products. IE. internet service, digital TV, telephony etc. Now there is plenty of work in this category. Service type work will always be available for the most part. It may be more of a headache, but if your going to"wait it out" ,Why not go into the service end for a while. When construction does pick up again you can do both. This way you have something to fall back on. You can make money as a service contractor. If you already have a contract with a cable company, see if you can get some service work. That's where the money will be over the next few years. It does not pay as much but it pays.
