Why all of a sudden are there so many cable guys telling customers they own the cable line on a customers house. I will install satellite for a customer, a few days later I get a call saying the cable guy came and hooked up their internet and disconnected their satellite in that room saying they own the cable and the satellite guy should run his own line. I used to install cable before satellite. When I was installing cable if I went to a house and they had satellite I ran a line into that room and hooked up their internet and moved on. All of a sudden there are all kinds of cable techs around here being extremely lazy and disconnecting the satellite and telling the customer to call us back and have us run a line for them. Well I tell the customer if I have to come back and run a cable they will have to pay me the $40 I receive for a service call. I tell them to call back to Cox or Comcast and tell them to fix what they messed up. I explain to the customer that as soon as a person attaches a cable to THEIR house that THEY own the cable and no one else. They usually go "duh, what the hell was I thinking" and call the cable company and make them fix it. I am just wondering why this has been happening so frequently lately. Like I said I used to install cable and the people I worked for would never put up with this kind of BS so I am just wondering what is going on. Thanks for any replies.
