$50,000 a year is NOT a good living!

Here is one basic problem with Primes (of which I have been), MSO's and HSP's in this industry.

A recent post stated:

"The way I look at it is if my techs can make 50,000 a year to install cable then that is a good living...."

$50,000 a year is NOT even close to a "good living" in 2006. At best it is lower class pay and, depending where you live and other factors, could be considered a below poverty level income. Everyone has there own idea of what a decent livable income is, but for a SELF EMPLOYED CONTRACTOR with all the associated expenses of any business person $50,000 a year is not even close. I'm not trying to come down on anyone, but the truth is you can get by if you must on $50,000 a year, but it is a long, long way from "good"!!!!!!!!!
