Hello everyone,
I recently got back into the IT field. Working with satellites, light networking and digital signage. Went to a site for a mdu that was running a fiber node. Apparently that fiber node is bad. So now a question came to mind. How hard is it to get into fiber and learn it?
I've seen some different programs. From a college class to comscope to the fiber optic association self study deal. My work is mostly in pre existing networks mostly commercial. I am not understanding all the certifications and what they actually mean. I get ftth that's fiber to the home. Is that where you start?
I was talking to one guy local here. He was telling me he runs the line and pays another guy to put on the fittings.
