Directv, HD receiver (non-DVR), KAKU 3 LNB (non-SWM)So, I get to a customer's place and they have searching for satellite on all channels. They had an LNB that was clearly damaged, so I replaced it but to no avail. However, when I check the satellite signal, they got really good signal on the 101, yet the 99 and 103 have zeros across the board. Now, what could cause such a thing? Assuming that the HD signal was available once upon a time, meaning no unexpected splitters and multi-switches, what could cause the HD signals to disappear out of nowhere like that? This was a commercial account (a restaurant) and they were too packed with customers for me to investigate. I'm going back tomorrow and i need some ideas as to what could be wrong with the system. Obviously re=pointing the dish is an option, but has anyone ever known a bad receiver to discriminate between satellite signals in such a fashion? I was thinking about just confirming the 119 at the point right before the HD receiver. Assuming that's all good, what would you do next?
