Dont Understand???

 I need a little help with this one. I am a construction manager and was told by the higher ups that I needed to seperate myself from my lineman roots.... Now there was a thread posted a while back that had something about refusing work and you get shit jobs after that. I put my two cents in that thread on that issue, my qauestion now is how to seperate yourself from taking care of the very guys that pay your salary and would bend over backwards to do anything you asked them to do. I feel like I would be turning my back on them and like I said before I am a manager now, but will always be a lineman. A little advice would be appreciated. Thanks
