I agree with your higher ups....sorry about that and I 'll try to explain.......Do you remember when you were a just a child and the things you did and when you first began liking that special girl and soon afterwards you hung around less and less with your friends. Well its a lot like that except its money this time  thats more important since we all need it. What I'm trying to say is your company wants you to make them a priorty and realize where your bread is buttered so they can trust you, You see once your a boss you can no longer be that good of a friend any more. You are now classified as a ASSET. Workers come and go but VERY few ever be recognized as leadership material. I hope this helped if not good luck with your new job!
