Trey,
These people believe what they want to believe. They see the health care bill as a government take over, which anyone with half of a brain knows that is not. They choose to follow people that say health care legislation is socialism at its finest. Every intelligent person knows that this was a far cry from socialism.
Unlike the previous administration's attempt, this health care option would have been paid for.
I for one am sick and tired of having my insurance rates climb by double digits on a yearly basis because of a lack of regulation in the healthcare system that allows record profits for the insurance companies and continues to raise the premiums by double digits more than once a year.
Even with insurance, alot of people are denied the medical treatment that some of them need to survive. Most insurance companies, when faced with a high claim, will usually deny the first claim for benefits, or try to stall the process. Just do a google search for denied insurance claims and you will see what I am talking about.
I did see one major flaw with this bill, it would have forced you to buy insurance. If you didn't, you would have had to pay a penalty. I also believed this would have opened the door to insurance companies using your credit history as a basis for setting premiums, just like auto insurance. Credit has no basis on future claims.
This great country, The United States of America spent 2.4 Trillion Dollars on health care costs last year. That is astronomical, as well as unsustainable. At this rate, this great country will be bankrupt within 5 years.
This is not a Republican, or a Democratic issue, this is an American issue that needs to get resolved. WE, THE PEOPLE, need to get the politicians off of their lazy asses and get the health care issue dealt with. At the same time, we need them to get legislation passed that will allow jobs to be created.
Again, this is not about Democrats and Republicans, this is about us, WE, THE PEOPLE.
I believe in freedom. Freedom to choose what is good for me and my family. while flawed, this bill would have been good for me and my family.
