I have been told by my boss that DNSC is now requiring phone lines to be installed for free to every receiver. I thought that he was smoking crack, especially when he said that it has been part of the basic install for a long time. The bitch about it is that we have to provide the materials and labor free of charge. This is on top of the free pole mounts and wall fishing.
Now my response is: what will happen when somebody crosses the polarity at the d-mark and causes the security system to fail? Especially if the alarm fails to call the police in the case of a break-in. Oh yeah, and what about granny that is depending on her phone line for her life when "she falls and can't get up?" How about if there is a crime in progress, right after the Dish tech leaves, and the people can't call 911!?
WE AREN'T PHONE TECH'S! THEY PAY MA BELL FOR A NEW OUTLET, OR WE SELL THEM A WIRELESS EXTENDER! BTW, MY LIABILITY INSURANCE ONLY COVERS CABLE AND SATELLITE TV, NOT PHONE!
New Dish Rule about Phone Lines?
