I don't know about other cable distributors, but mine doesn't allow it's contractors any free service or even so much as a discount.
It really bothers me that I as well as the other 500+ contractors that are the customer service and installation professionals for our cable provider are expected to be the front line of customer service for their company, but without the perks. We are the first person from our provider that a customer will see and if all goes well probably the last. We work six maybe even seven days a week leaving our wives and children at home to go make the big dollar for our provider, but the great cable company can't even reward us an intangible signal for no or little cost. Actually, here, it is just the opposite with threats of law suits if we connect ourselves without paying.
Does anyone else find this to be a strange business decision?
I'm feeling unappreciated :(
