Re: Note to all cable guy wanna be's

It's been my experience that the " cable guy" unlike a low voltage "tech" or telecom tech doesn't require any formal training or education to do their respective jobs= H.S. diploma or G.E.D. truck and tools gets ya hired! There's no apprenticeship, journeyman, master levels (which dictate your pay level). Just truck and tools (not hand tools i.e. hammer, screw driver, wrench) but seriously expensive tools and the ability to use them. Organized labor dictates your level of pay and you will pay your dues (not the monthly dues, rather the dues you pay to learn your trade). I'd venture to say your average "cable guy" wouldn't qualify for employment except "maybe" as an apprentice! There's no pride to be taken in this industry anymore! Unless , of course, your other alternatives were Wally World!Later, Mike M.
