That's funny - doing it right the first time. I do work for Telcos and I am in business because they don't do it right the first time. So much for regulation.....
It all boils down to the hourly worker. Piecerate guys want to do it right the first time. It comes down to dollars and cents. For the hourly guy, he gets paid no matter how many times he has to go to the same location.
And, Duck, no I do NOT want the govt to subsidize anything in this industry. You don't think it will cost the MSOs money?? You are wrong. Just look at your phone bill and cable bill (if you have one, since you seem to move around so much). Look at all the regulatory fees that you are paying for.... and for what?
Sir, I don't know how old you are, and I'm not asking, but you will long be retired by the time this industry implodes on itself.
I've got "certified" data techs all the time trying to look for work. They attended a couple of classes, but don't know how to do anything. Maybe you haven't attended enough certificatin classes to see what really goes on. The school will collect a bunch of money, with no guarantee to the student of finding/keeping a job..... sorry.
