I want to get started as a fiber slicer doing contract work. This industry will have a hard time growing if it can't educate it's tech properly... What are the best schools for training and how do you get your foot in the door for jobs to gain experience. What kind of money is there to be made... What are the most common mistakes made my hacks?
In the satellite world, the pay keeps dropping. I'm sure that it will happen in the fiber world too, as more low-wage mediocre techs are added. Seems like as long as there are a few knowledgable guys around to clean up the occasional hackwork, the suits are happy.
