I remember Poge, but I don't recall all the details. I completely agree that people who are what we think of as "outside the norm" should be appreciated, or at least respected. I've been a member of dozens of online communities. The best, the most successful, they don't allow the cliques to take over. Dissenting opinions are welcomed and encouraged. That's the philosophy I try to bring here.
Casting Dave as Poge is way off, though. The Poges here are Whitfield, Meat Grinder, Fiber Slasher and maybe a few others (I hope they don't mind my dragging them into this.) Wet Cement was closed down because a tiny group had problems with Whitfield. Unmoderated was lost over Meat Grinder. I'm done ceding ground. Look at the Linemen forum for the cast of antagonists in this current episode. Dave is there. If I have to lose a dozen of them to keep one "Poge", then that's how it will be.
