Heres what really goes on,
Installers show up close to 8:30, looking like they spent half the night in a club, needing a bath and some mouthwash, Complain because they want all HSD work because disconnects or that 1 job thats 10 miles away isnt worth thier time.
Thier paperwork has foreign substances on them, all with inaccurate or missing info on them, they cant find any of thier return equipment because thier truck is a mess, but they always find time to complain that check-in is too slow. but then they go to breakfast for 2 hours and complain with the other installers how little they make.
Meanwhile, supervisors have to clean-up thier crappy paperwork, account for thier missing equipment, and then go QC every job because, as we all know, when the boss isnt looking, we jack jobs up becuase the customer doesnt know that the cable isnt supposed to get strubg halfway down the house at eye-level.
This is why its easier to start over with a guy who works for $ 6.00 an hour at a tire repair shop over some 14 year veteran.
at the end of the day, he will appreciate making $ 700 a week no matter how many hours he works, and that appreciation will turn into better quality work, which turns into more work, less management, better profits, and more money to the tech.
All of you who cry about the pay need to just quit. we would be better off without you infecting the rest of the employees with your nonsense " i remember the days" BS.
Most installers have no clue as to the behind the scenes expenses relating to everyday management of the business. truth is, if a company is making 10% gross, they are doing good.
I know there are alot of shady companies out there, so no need for redundant posts about ' this company that fu$%^ed me', or ' that F%^$ing company never paid me', the bottmom line is that if you are not happy with what you do, dont do it. noone has ever held a gun to your head and made you do cable tv.
you are full of ****
