I am currently taking jobs daily installing dtv and my boss contracts from a hsp in nc, and i get the jobs daily through him but they come directly from the hsp..He has 4 or 5 guys working under him daily 6 days a week. Upon him hiring me i was not asked to sign any contract or get any insurance. He does not take out taxes so i get a 1099 yearly, and he pays per job..
Now the question is i was injured on the job (cut some of my finger off) and out of work for a week, should have been more as it is not easy to put up a dish without the use of the injured finger. Am i liable for the medical bills and am i just s.o.l. for that weeks pay?
