There is a so called "prime"contractor in south Texas that are paying veteran aerial crew foreman $13.00 per hour and seasoned splice technicians the same and no chance for overtime. And they offer no benefits or incentives. And with the prices they are getting they could be paying competitive piece rates. When asked why they are screwing people at these prices their response is "because we can". This outrages me and prompted me to post this discussion. There is not that many seasoned cable professionals in this area and if the current people simply refused to work at those rates they would be forced to pay more to get the help. After all the contractor is from out of state and could not afford to be down for very long. What really pi$$eS me off is they low-balled and knocked out a good chance for local contractors who do offer health insurance and decent prices and take good care of their people. People it is time to start getting together and showing these people we're not gonna stand by and suffer while they buy their new classic cars and other toys. Any one else have any horror stories like this?
Can you beat these low prices
