Been in this business for 20 years. If all the newbies want to work for peanuts, fine. Myself, not a chance. I sit at the house & when a good job comes along, I go to work. The newbies make it hard but not impossibe to make still good $. Their crap is justification for paying me my wage. Go union & newbies have as much pull as seasoned vets. I'll stand my ground - I don't mind sitting at the house as I have a life other than work.
