A nice easy rule of thumb i tell my guy is if wanna save time, win 98 SE or better on a machine...less troubles... Once you get the cable modem to sync.....its up to the the sub if there machine has trojans/viruses.....we use sr tech to do the nic install...if needed ... most of the new modems are USB based so plug-n-pray.... several of our sr's a A-certified so we dont blow a warrenty issue..
