Yes Mr. Blowing I regret having to inform you that it is a pre-requisit that you be a addict of some sort prior to entering the C.A.T.V. industry. If you are a clean, reputable person I would suggest seeking a career elsewhere (possibly at a D.M.V.).....................

I remember those good old days. If you wanna know why there is a problem in the CATV industry it's because, When you have put in a bust ass day and your tired and thirsty you wanna have a little fun. I know my favorite saying coming into a contract use to be "Where's the best Bar in town", with the coldest beer of course! Most of the guys I know in the industry are from the days of Drugs thats why the industry has got its Reputattion. I have been doing CATV and Telco for 25 years, yes I am an old fart contractor

Hey Hornis, You don't have to be a brain surgeon to get into the cable industry just a desire to bust your balls, and then at the end of the day wonder why the cable company your working for thinks that it just wasn't quite enough. Now if you want to go in house you can do the same thing for 1/2 the money. Then when you come home you will either need a stiff drink or some other substance to make you feel just a little bit better about the bullshit you put up with on a daily basis.

To Horn Is Blowing....
The CATV is a very tough job, especially for a groundsman, Take it from a Top quality foreman, who expects nothing less than honest-to-god perfection, (on a good day) Hey, we all know not everyone is perfect, but all we ask is that you retain the knowledge that we so graciously sacrifice from a % earning day. There's nothing worse than training a guy for 3-6 wks, only to have him qiut 'cause of the sun, or snow, or pulling a lasher for 30-40 spans a day.
And no, drugs and booze are not a quality. Give me a break, what else do you do in a starnge town, working 7 days a week out of a motel room, .... c'mon. You telling me accountants don't get f'ing bombed around April 15th? We are good at what we do, make as much money as Medical Doctors, and take serious pride in our work.
I work for CSS, East Coast of NC. Love my job, Hate the hrs, but love the money.
And got a wife and 2 kids... (1 just born 7-23-99!!!!!!!!!!)
