Wet Cement

Wet Cement was a guestbook on the original site from 1996-2002.
Visitors were greeted with the message:

It seems some people have already made a mess here. You may as well write your name too.

Its original purpose was to leave an "I was here" message on the brand new site, but as time progressed it became an ad hoc chat room. Due in part to its anonymous nature, it eventually devolved into a -- to put it mildly -- less than professional section of the site. Since there was already a formal discussion forum (the Bar), and the original purpose of Cement had long been forgotten, it was retired early in 2002.
