Dav1, whoever you are, you could not be more wrong. Modems are designed to run at their highest level within a couple dB of their max. Systems are designing their reverse to take advantage of this by installing the new reverse conditioners which are in the main trunk and/or feeder lines to take up every last dB of modem level available. Also, systems are designing the reverse legs to have the same losses as the forward.
