I have been on both sides of the fence. The comment about management wanting to "threaten" an employee....pure bull. With or without the Union, I could threaten you if I wished. The problem here is the attitude of those "threatened". Probably an employee that quit 5 years ago and is still there. (think about that). As far as CWA...look at what happened in Houston back in 96 or 97 (around there). The folks in the union went two years without a raise and the dispatchers were making a whopping 7.50 an hour...(12 year employees). After the union left....an average of 2.73 per hour increse for hourly employees. Its the employees that make the company....not the union...not the management. As far as "protection" goes, look around...its the folks that bitch about having to carry a ladder (because they are too feeble to gaf) are the ones that need a union for protection......because they are "threatened". Threatened that they will be replaced by someone that will do the job....right.
