I am in the IBEW with a cable system. You are right about one thing it benifits those with tenure, or those that are in the click. See management does hate the U word because then they cannot threaten you with your job. If you have no union they can and do get the red ass with you and sooner or later your gone. True it does happen union or not but it happens a lot less with the union. Sounds like AT&T is the same as Charter. Managers are weaker than puppy piss. The biggest problem with catv industry is that it is a technical industry and the people in charge don't know their ass from ingress. Most were in the field for 4-5 yrs promoted to management where they've stayed. We need managers and supervisors who are top noch "LEAD" techs. People that no it all not college boys who set back and dream up bull shit for us to try and accomplish.
