Although I have not worked for catv, I have been reading most of the horror experiences. Anyone could be put in a position to fail. Only the experienced techs, old school people see what is going on. The people just starting out need to be guided around these scumbag companies. These companies need to be better regulated. I am not sure that a union is the answer (I have been in the union for 32yrs.)
What I see is contractors warning each other, calling for each other to come together. When you are out there starving, trying to provide for familey in an imposible situation you tend to hope for the best and ignore the rest.
Weather for the catv, phone side unless all pull together and rat out these back stabbing lying companies, this will continue.
I have been a contractor and there are a lot of jerks out there.
Is it possilbe to start a web site to guide the people starting out or who are working for such trash? Other than forums on cablbar? Just asking.
