comcast starting to encrypt basic cable channels

this may be old news but i see no posts about it ....it seems the fcc is now allowing cable companies  to encrypt  basic cable channels which will require users  to have a settop box for every tv....it seems to me that cable companies only advantage over satelite is not requiring users to have recievers for every tv ....i really hope that the cable companies greed  results in a massive loss of customers....to be honest i dont see why you couldnt use the digital recievers in your tv instead of having a settop box....they make a fortune  renting these boxes and they monitor your every move and channel selction you make ....this is a stupid move on the cable companies part
