This is the future of cable. With areas launching ALL digital lineups this will be the norm for all channels to be encrypted so all services will go thru a digital settop box. No disco's no undocumented subscrubers (LOL liked that one) etc. only channels in the clear will be analog AGC carrier and tilt channels for balance. Then when the System techs get QAM agc's in all the actives the analog channels will go away and balancing will be done with digital carriers. This is so the customers can have more and more HD channels and 16 Downstreams for Docsis for more speed.
