I am in the Las Vegas Cox system and 8/21 my SA DVR started smelling like it's power supply was burning up on 8/22 it started freezing and locking up, I had to reboot 6 times that day, so last night I called Cox and talked to the tech department and told them what was going on, I told the tech to just ship a replacement and I will do it myself, in the past they shipped all my equipment (HS Modem, Dct and the DVR) I was just trying to save them some money for something as simple swapping out the box, The tech then tells me that there is a $30.00 charge if I do it myself but a service tech will come out the next day and swap it for free, I asked him what if it was just a remote, still $30.00 charge.
Talk about a waste of manpower, gasoline and wear & tear on their vehicles.
Cox now charging customer $30.00 to self install.
