You should understand the definition of an employee and an independent contractor.
1. There is a chance your past five years were actually done as an employee in spite of what you and the Comcast sub called each other. You may be entitled to SS contributions and back overtime pay.
2. As you change to another state you should understand their laws. Speak with someone in FL about how things wiork there.
3. There is legal advice and business advice. Neither will be found here. You will find helpful opinions but keep asking the same questions...in FL and make a plan.
