Save your money and save your receipts. Pay your taxes quarterly rather than wait until the last minute. Not sure how it is in Florida but here we pay 15% off the top just for social security. At times you will feel like the company you are subbing for is treating you like an employee rather than a contractor. Don't get discouraged and unless you have multiple connections to other companies do not play "Big Shot" What I mean by that is do not throw up the "I'm a contractor not an employee" line too often. We are all a dime a dozen. Most importantly do your job right the first time. Whoever is giving you the work will see that you are helping to make a good name for his/her company and it will only help you in the future. Invest in a white truck or van if you do not have one already. Most companies are switching to uniform white vehicles even for their subs. You should be fine. Overall you will see a great deal more money but with more money comes more responsibilty. Some people would rather be W-2 because they basically cannot handle the money situation.
