Re: No per diem on a prevailing wage (Simulus) Pro

Let me see if I have this right!

The Minnesota PW Lineman job is looking for FULL TIME Employees.
Their truck, tools, gas, insurance, ALL you have to provide is your climbing gear and hand tools at $49.64 an hour, that's  $595.68 for an 8 hour day X 5 days a week = $2975.00 per week, with a mid range Motel like Extended Stay of America @ $375.00 per week that comes out to $2600.00 net per week x 4 $10,400.00 net per month.

I know a few OTR Owner Operators Drivers that Net half that after all the expenses,
and as far as disrespect of all Craftsmen, read most of the threads posted here on the Cabl Bar, I'm ready to burn a fatty after work or I closed the Pub up at 4am and slept it off in the warehouse lot because I had to be at the yard @ 6am, Been there Done that many times myself, So I don't see anything wrong with an employer not wanting the typical
Vagabond Cable Gypsy working in their employment.

YOU GUYS are the cause for the extreme demands that the MSO'S has placed upon the primes in order to work in their systems (DMV, Drug, Criminal Background)

Back 10 years ago 2 out of 10 Linemen, Splicers or Ground hands could pass todays background standards.
10 years ago maybe 2 out of 10 Linemen, Splicers or Ground hands had a valid drivers license.
Hell I knew of one company that had 6 trucks running with 3 man crews and not one of them had a valid drivers license.

I was working a Job 15 years ago in WPB Florida and was at the shop when 6 US Marshals rolled into the warehouse in full gear looking for a Lineman that was an escaped prisoner from California serving a 40 to life sentence for 1st degree murder.

And you wonder why it is so hard to get a good job now with good pay.
