Back in '82 I lived in Detroit and did installs in the suburbs (Detroit didn't have cable back then)
Well, I often did installs in 5-6 million dollar homes and before starting my install I would often determine 2 or 3 different ways that I could run the cable and ask the customer what their preference was.
After Detroit finally got cable I started installing in the city.
The first Detroit install I did, I determined a couple of ways that I could have run the cable and asked the customer which he preferred.
He then opened a window and said, "Just throw the danged thing through the window for all I care. I just want my MTV"
Ever since, the customer got what ever I determined would be the easiest and fastest.
Well, I never did just throw the drop through a window though.
