We are working on a sophisticated communication system here and we try to fix it with tooth pick and screw driver.
The best way is still to talk to a headend gear, whre we see the return response and removed one drop at the time of the multitap, that way you'll have only customer out of service not a bunch of them.
No wonder this CATV industry has a bad name.
