I would say that the MSO's are requiring it for insurance or accountability reasons or both. Got to be a bean counter somewhere that figured out they could save money by getting rid of 1099 employees. Weather it be cheaper insurance rates or easier to hold the prime accountable IE cut pay rates or increase charge backs maybe a simple as less paperwork for them.
If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking.
