As an employee you get paid for training. If you come in with skills you can negotiate higher pay. As you work you are paid all hours on site while working. You are paid when in a company vehicle driving to work locations and returning to your reporting office. As you work you are paid for your work but do not share profits and losses. The employer also withholds your taxes and pays 1/2 your Social Security. The employer provides insurance and materials.
IF you do poor work you can be fired for poor work. If you are late you can be fired for that. If you ignore training instructions and do work in a different manner than described in training you can be fired. If you are sent to redo poor work you can expect to be paid for that....and also be fired if the problem persists.
QC is a production and training issue to assure good customer service. It is not an opportunity to balance the books for under bid jobs.
