Re: Home question for you

My parents have a couple of friends that built their own underground homes. Been over there a couple of times. Built into the side of a hill, with a southern exposure, with plenty of glass so that you have the sun to help heat and light the place. They have a rock wall on the inside to absorb the heat from the sun. The rock will hold the heat even after the sun goes down. Use plenty of sky lights to allow natural light into the house. Underground homes tend to be darker if sky lights are not used. Use of French drains around the foundation, and roof is a must, also planting small bushes and shrubs on the roof helps in absorbing moisture and controlling run off. That's about what I know. They have lived there about 20 years and love their home.
