I worked for a company in Orlando, Fl call In/On and they were employee based. We got paid peace rate and if you had your own beep beep/nextel they paid you extra on paychecks. I don't know how it worked else where but it wasn't that bad. I only quit because at the time all they were able to contract with BH was core cable jobs, this ment no HSD and at that time VOIP wasn't around. I made $800-1200 on straight core jobs so I can't see how much worse it can get. Atleast you will have more rights and be protected. But your entitled to your opinion.
Do it right the 1st time, Spend less time the 2nd time.
