The people who make these rule's,
School board, local and state gov are all elected into to office to serve the majority vote'
You obviously aren't the majority.

You say kids can say anything they want to teachers, not true,
I'm sure there are some exceptions, hard core inner city.
But not most'
Do you think it's right having a McDonalds in a school for a lunch option is O.K.?
They had one at my High School.(class of 84)

You say let parents decide. Which would be great if all parents were as hands on and involved
as you or I. But you know thats not the case alot of the time,
Alot of parents don't have a clue or a care what happens when their kids are in school(or home for that matter)
It's sad but true,
School is to learn, and that includes nutrition, It may be the only decent thing some kids get all day,
even more so nowa days with so many parents out of work.

Do I think punishing them for a Jolly Rancher is right, No.
But rules are rules, and the parent should have made sure they didn't bring it if it was not allowed.
There's parent responsibility rite there,
