Wierd FWD MER Issue

So, I saw strange MER issue in 2 different parts of our plant (different hubs). After sweeping plant to end of line tap I found no issues. At EOL tap (4-2 port) I have MER= 34.5. At end of 100' RG11 drop I have 4 dB of loss (849MHz), clean response (fwd & rtn) but MER= 29.3. HHHHMMMMMM...bad drop? Nope. I changed the drop any way even though I knew it wasn't bad and saw the same thing (with the house ground connected and disconnected).

The plot thickens. When I go into the house and check off of the 35' piece of RG6 from the GB my MER is 30.8. When I check off of the 4-way splitter, my MER is now 35.0????????????? Checked this 3 times cause I thought I was losing my mind. Got the same results with tap, GB, and splitter measurements.

I've seen this exact thing at 2 different houses. It only affects QAMs at 849 & 855 MHz. Both were same value taps with the same levels at GB.

Anybody?
