Sab3r, alot of what you are saying is just factually incorrect. We are entittled to our opinions. But we are not entittled to our own facts.
The left is not saying these jobs were saved or created. CBO is saying this.
The numbers do add up. At the time, Nov & Dec 2008 rank 3rd & 4th on the all time job loss list. Nov we lost 580k jobs, and Dec we lost 524. Oct 2008 was as bad as we had seen it. Oct 2008 rankd 7th all time. But we had only lost 380K. Jan 2009 ranks 2nd all time, with 598k jobs loss. Eveeryone thought Nov-Jan was going to look something like Oct 2008. We ended up trumping our highest month at that time (Oct) 3 months in a row. If Obama would have prdicted those numbers, and use those numbers to justify a stimulus bill. I have no doubt everyone would have thought he was just trying to stick it to Bush, if Obama had predicted the job loss would have been so high. Even Bush didn't think those numbers were going to be that high. But the biggest unkown factor at the time, was that GDP shrunk by 6%. This caused very high job losses 1Q 2009, about 500k-600 per month. Remember, unemployment is a lagging indiacator
Economics is something no one can expect to be 100% correct. If that were true, someone would be very rich. We can only make educated estimates. The jobs saved were mostly state jobs. Teachers policemen, etc..... If these people were laid off due to state bidget restraints, they would have been counted towards the unemployment number. Obama has control over what the stimilus can do. He does not have control over the entire economy. The stimulus is doing what the stimulus was made to do. However, the 4Q GDP of 2008 was much worse than anyone predicted. So I guess you're going to blame Obama for the bad GDP numbers, during the time he wasn't even president.
You say the stimulus was supposed to save or create 3 million jobs in 1 year. Thats just factually incorrect. The stimulus was made to work over the course of 2-3 years. It was NEVER promised that it would create NET job gains. The jobs from the stimulus bill were only supposed to help stabalize the rate of job loss, which it has done. Government can not create or save jobs at the rate needed to create NET job gains, during this recession. NO dem has ever promised it would.
