Thats what they say but they are wrong.  Time starts when you pick up work, go get parts, and all that other good stuff.  I wouldnt be picking up parts for free once I was hourly. When you are a contractor your prices should reflect all the time spent for misc bs.  The only exception I could see is if you had a pda with all your work orders on it first thing in the morning and you didnt have to go get parts or work orders.  Then in that case I could understand not getting paid until you get to the first one.  I WOULD NOT WORK HOURLY USING MY OWN TRUCK FOR 10-15 DOLLARS A HOUR.
