I've been a contractor for a few years now and at the beginning of 2009 the company I work for forced all "contractors" to go from 1099 to W-2. I hit an electrical line (feeding a power outlet) in a house and was forced to pay for it. Should I have to pay the damage claim as a W-2 employee?
