Actually, you currently do not choose to have coverage. You choose to pay for private insurance. But you are already covered by Reagans healthcare for all bill. So there is no loss of freedom. If you choose to not have coverage and needed service you would receive treatment because of the government. BTW, how much do you think private insurance would be if the government was not their to subsidize the payments for the uninsured and under-insured who can't pay.
Everyone buys insurance with the hopes you never have to use it. What else is new. You have insurance and didn't use it. Fine. No big deal. But while you were lucky enough not to have to use it, you were still covered. Being covered is the whole point of this thing. Getting people covered so they can be proactive with their health and not wait until they're 1 step away from death to see a doctor.
