The ground goes inside the dead space next to the elevator room where all the cables run and the Ground Blocks are located. It connects to a ground bar we bonded back to the Intersystem Bonding Termination in the equipment room. There is nowhere else on the roof to ground to, stick built motel, no building steel other that metal studs. Inspector liked it so thats how we did it. I missed the ziptie at the top of the mast!
The ring connector is a listed device, why would you not use one? I used the clamp because those non penns don't have a connection point so you have to scrape off paint and being this is only 3 blocks from the gulf, I went with the plated hardware, less likely to rust.
