Alot don't realize that with fiber, and nodes came less coax, less active gear, more reliable service; Less need for more techs. I have seen a trend toward more fiber, less coax: This provides more reliable service with a lot less trouble. A lot less trouble means there is not a need to have three or four techs to take care of what one or two can. I just finished doing fiber upgrades for a company that was upgrading all their rural systems to all glass, so that they didn't have to send a tech 30 or 40 miles out on service calls all the time. All fiber systems means more reliable service.
